Last Friday, the Woolooware Bay team went to join a session at our our free Live Life Get Active program down at Don Lucas Reserve. Along with two Sharks players, Jacob Gagan & Fa’amanu Brown, the girls enjoyed a great yoga class with Yoga instructor Ying. The Friday yoga class is one of the most popular and is at capacity almost every week.
It was such a great atmosphere with many of the members of the group seeming to know each other and truly enjoyed being there.
Since Capital Bluestone initiated the free program in May 2015, the number of participants has grown from 126 to 400 people – an increase of nearly 300 per cent. Participants have lost a combined 90 kilograms and 242 centimetres from their waists. Participants are seeing improvements to both their physical and mental wellbeing which is so important to overall health. This free fitness program is perfect for all ages and fitness levels with a great variety of classes for all.
“As our camps evolve, you will see the effect on the different profiles. How those that are currently at increased risk start to join the normal group. This is when you can say you are having a measurable effect on the health of the community”. Nat Grosvenor, LLGA Master Trainer.
Connecting people to each other through healthy and positive programs helps to build sustainable and strong communities which is fundamental to Capital Bluestone’s core principals.
