Allen Andrews was a school teacher for over 50 years. This saw Mr Andrews teaching across a number of schools from Newcastle down to Cronulla High School. As part of his incredible career in education, Mr Andrews was heavily involved in sport, mostly Junior Rugby.
Mr Andrews coached and mentored thousands of young sports people and understood that sport was a way for young people to connect, be healthy and be part of community groups.
On the 4th of May this year, Mr Andrews was honoured by having the Cronulla High Sports Field named after him. Capital Bluestone delivered these fields as part of the commitments at the Woolooware Bay development and worked with Cronulla High School to arrange the event and new signage.
Attended by local politicians, old students, Olympic athletes and various members of the sports and education community, Mr Andrews was flanked by his children as he was recognised for his lifelong commitment.
It is people like Mr Andrews that help to shape our community and drive so much positive influence to our young people.
